Position Overview
The Windows Support team provides industry leading support to HI-TEX Solutions customers as part of a collaborative service organization supporting diverse environments across the United States. Our team supports small business, mid market, and enterprise customer environments across Microsoft infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity operations, virtualization, and end user technologies.
The Windows Systems Administrator Level 1 serves as an entry level to early career technical resource responsible for frontline customer support, workstation administration, account management, troubleshooting, and assisting with day to day operational support tasks. This role works closely with senior engineers and service teams to ensure customer issues are resolved efficiently while maintaining a high standard of customer experience.
The ideal candidate is customer focused, technically curious, eager to learn, and passionate about building a long term career in IT, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Support & Service Delivery
- Provide technical support to customers through phone, email, remote support tools, and ticketing systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve common workstation, software, printer, connectivity, and user related issues
- Maintain ownership of support requests through resolution while ensuring strong customer communication
- Escalate advanced technical issues appropriately to senior technical resources
- Support customer environments in accordance with established SLAs and operational standards
- Deliver professional and customer focused support experiences
Microsoft & Endpoint Administration
- Support Windows workstation environments including Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Assist with user account management within Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Support password resets, MFA enrollment, account provisioning, and device setup
- Assist with endpoint configuration, software installation, and patching activities
- Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Assist with workstation deployments and onboarding activities
Infrastructure & Operational Support
- Perform basic troubleshooting for networking, VPN, printer, and connectivity related issues
- Assist with hardware troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Monitor system alerts and escalate issues as necessary
- Assist with backup checks, maintenance tasks, and operational procedures
- Support documentation updates and customer environment records
Security & Compliance Support
- Follow cybersecurity best practices and operational security procedures
- Assist with endpoint protection, MFA setup, and security related remediation tasks
- Maintain awareness of security standards and customer compliance requirements
- Report suspicious activity or potential security concerns appropriately
Professional Development & Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with Level 2, Level 3, project, and security teams to resolve customer issues
- Participate in technical training, certifications, and professional development initiatives
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and process improvement efforts
- Develop troubleshooting, customer service, and systems administration skills
- Maintain professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to learn
Required Skills & Experience
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft technologies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and Windows desktop environments
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including IP addressing, Wi Fi, VPNs, and internet connectivity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
- Strong attention to detail and follow through
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Help Desk, technical support, or customer service experience
- Exposure to Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or endpoint management tools
- Basic familiarity with PowerShell or scripting concepts
- Experience working within a Managed Service Provider environment is a plus
- Entry level Microsoft or CompTIA certifications are a plus
- Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems
- Interest in cybersecurity, cloud technologies, or systems administration
